Technical & Legal Standards Workshop 2

The BioBricks Foundation, Inc. (BBF), is a not-for-profit organization founded to promote and protect the development, sharing, and reuse of BioBrick™ standard biological parts. The BBF's goals are to provide stewardship in developing and promoting technical standards, in building and protecting a public commons of synthetic biological parts, and in supporting a vibrant community of biological engineers.
On March 1, 2008 on the Mission Bay Campus of UCSF, the BioBricks Foundation will host creators and enablers of BioBrick standard biological parts at its 2nd Technical & Legal Standards Workshop.
WORKSHOP GOALS
Technical Standards
Develop standards of operation, characterization, and practice that are
needed to enable the distributed and responsible development of
BioBrick™ standard biological parts.
Legal Standards
Develop legal strategies and technologies that enable the
distributed growth of an open commons of information specifying
biological function, such that many individuals and organizations can
contribute to and make use of libraries of BioBrick standard biological
parts.

Two sets of workshop passes are available:
